Explanation:

ANSWER:

This hand offers several possibilities, each with its own gaps. As such, it offers our more advanced players a challenge and provides a valuable learning opportunity for everyone. If you disagree with our answer, it’s likely due to the tough call between two concealed hands, each with their own risks.

✅ Correct Answer A): Any Like Numbers, Line 3 (FF 111 111 111 DDD)
This is the Insider’s pick. Playing this hand with sevens needs the fewest tiles of the available options (only 5).  This hand requires skill and luck, as it’s concealed and missing sevens in a third suit (Dots). With a few Jokers and a little luck, though, it’s possible. Just hold any tiles that enable pivoting to a backup hand, in case this hand becomes impossible to play.

❌ Answer B): 13579, Line 9 (FF 55 77 555 777 99)
Some of you may consider this one the front-runner, but it requires three pairs, and only one is complete. The Insider would only shoot for this one if the pairs come in early during the Call and Discard portion of the game.

❌ Answer C) 13579, Line 5 (555 7777 7777 9999)
Many beginners would pick this hand because it’s familiar, but it requires more tiles than the other hands and fails to utilize a Pung of Soaps. This hand requires a Kong of 9 Bams, a considerable gap to fill without having anything but a Joker.

❌ Answer D): Consecutive Run, Line 5 (FF 77 888 9999 DDD)
Like Answer B, this is a hand many beginners will pick due to familiarity, but it would be a big stretch to make it. This hand requires a Kong of 9 Bams, but it also needs two pairs that aren’t yet complete.
