Which section would you build on, based on this deal?
🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ A ⭕️ 13579 (1026 Votes)
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 B ⭕️ 369 (4766 Votes)
🟨🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ C ⭕️ Consecutive Run (1721 Votes)
⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ D ⭕️ Singles and Pairs (349 Votes)
Explanation:
✅ Correct Answer: B) 369
Excellent choice if you picked this Section. This hand includes two pairs that fit naturally into the 369 Section, giving you a strong foundation. While there are gaps, there is also flexibility. Several hands can develop, and, best of all, focusing on tiles in the 3, 6, and 9 ranges also provides a good selection of tiles to pass.
❌ Answer A) 13579
This Section could serve as a reasonable backup during the Charleston, with the pair of 3 Bams and supporting 1 and 3 Dots. However, the gaps make it less reliable as your primary focus. If you chose this option, you’re on a valid path, just not the strongest one available.
❌ Answer C) Consecutive Run
There’s potential in the Consecutive Run section, but none of the options leverage more than one of the sets of pairs in the deal. While the pair of North Winds doesn’t fit with any of the remaining tiles, the other two pairs fall nicely into the 3,6,9 category. Breaking them up for a long shot is only advisable if Charleston changes the options.
❌ Answer D) Singles and Pairs
Aiming high with this Section is tempting, but there are too many gaps. It’s challenging to hold enough tiles for Singles and Pairs, Line 3, while also keeping a solid backup in 369. You’re better off focusing on 369 and pivoting only if the Singles and Pairs hand begins to form naturally.
Beginner’s Tip:
Start with a Section that gives you flexibility. The 369 Section is ideal for this; it allows for multiple directions as you build through the Charleston.
Advanced Moves:
With both Singles and Pairs, Line 3 and Consecutive Run, Line 7 in play, you’re experienced enough to hold the 1, 3, 4, 5 in Dots and all 369 tiles for a pass or two to see how your hand develops. If the opportunity arises to shift into Singles and Pairs, you might be setting yourself up for a higher-value win.
